Our Story
how the dooloops began
Hey, I know you! You’re busy, fashionable, environmentally conscious, and adore your fur baby. You know that going on walks is great for both of you, providing mental and physical enrichment that keeps you and your doggo happy and healthy.
So each day you grab the leash and hit the open sidewalk with a smile. By the end, you’re holding that poop bag high like a stinky badge of honor.
Wait, what?
And I get it. When I rescued two skittish basset hounds, Bella and Angie, I found out just how quickly a simple walk could turn into a frenzy of tangled leashes and multiple bags of doo. Even on days when the pups were keeping their cool, I was left clutching warm waste bags.
We all know that at some point on our walk, our hands will be holding a bag of poo. In my case with Bella and Angie, that meant bringing a cup of coffee was a non-starter, and taking a phone call became a risky balancing act. At the time, I once waved a smelly sack at someone in greeting. Not super friendly!
I turned to my local pet stores and the Internet for help but came up empty-handed. (Ironic, dontcha think?)
So, I took matters into my own paws and created a hands-free waste bag holder called the dooloop. This game-changing leash accessory is simple to use with one hand, and holds multiple bags (a.k.a. a lot of sh*t).
I’m proud to say that we make dooloops right here in Maine with flexible, recycled, non-toxic, formerly medical grade plastic. Both the dooloop and its packaging are 100% recyclable and assembled by workers paid a living wage.
Bonus points, it comes in seven modern colors to coordinate with any outfit. ;)
My goal is to make life easier for dog walkers and better for the environment. If people aren’t juggling their coffee or phone with bags of doo, there’ll be less dog poop left to ‘disappear,’ fewer bags left behind, and no more letters to Dear Abby about neighbors dropping poop bags in neighbors’ bins. This is one small choice we can each make to bring a little bit of brightness to our world!
